New Dragon + Excel Sheet

Post by Khumash-Gor »

Hey everyone, its Khumash-Gor, rather it was Khumash-Gor, hehe. I've recently joind the UDIC and my new nickname woud be obvious.

Anyway, I started a little example of a product here:

Check out the workbooks for Shapes and Gumps. If anybody thinks this is a good idea and wouldn't mind having a completed version, let me know! I will be more than happy to contribute.

Looks good, but maybe it should be in a more *neutral* format rather than an Excel spreadsheet. May I suggest an XML or a CSV format.
XML with appropriate XSL stylesheets could offer several views of the data

Yeah, some of us weirdos don't use or have excel. *grin* It looks good in OpenOffice though.

Yeah, as is kspread. I just get sick of trying to work out which document viewer program (kword/abiword/ooffice or kspread/gnumeric/oocalc) will open 'this' particular flavour of a MS format document, so I just try OO first, since works more often then not. *grin*

FYI, I actually just tried that spreadsheet in kspread and it didn't like it for reasons unknown to me. *shrug*

Yeah, I put it into excel because of the fact that I can pretty much export it into any format, including csv which I plan to do when its complete.

I don't know much about XML though, if I did I would give it a shot.
