What is "Next Frontier"?

I know those two, but wot is "New Frontier"?

I may be wrong, but I recall Origin mentioning something about creating a space RPG based on the U7 engine at one point, perhaps this was referring to that?

I thought they were alluding to the assistance of members of a television show with a name similiar to that, who took the time to play the residents of Serpent's Hold.
