Getting Exult installed to Zaurus...

Post by kyouki »

Hi!

I'm trying to get Exult on my Zaurus... I know you need to install it to a CF memory card, so I picked up a 128Mb Viking CF card.

Anyway, I can't get this thing to work!! ;_; I try to install it to CF, and it tells me that "ipkg says something went wrong. Sorry." That's not very helpful, so could someone give me some advice?

I tried reformatting the card to use ext2 format, but no luck.

I guess at this point I'm just gonna return the CF card, and hopefully someone can tell me which memory card they are using to get Exult to run properly. :D

try searching this forum for more details on installation. and i don`t think you need to put exult itself on the card. just the files from your original u7. but then what do i know about zaurus

Exult data files should go on the CF card and exult binaries (and config files) should be on the ROM.

Make sure you install the exult package with the Package Installer and not through the command line. You don't need to install the data file before the exult package so you can try that right away (translation: it doesn't matter if you install the exult binaries before or after the BG or SI data files).

You must also have some room on the RAM, make sure you have some space.

Don't give back your CF card yet. As long as you can see it when you insert it, you should be fine (the CF icon on the bottom right corner of the screen). Making it ext2 has no consequences or advantages to dosfs.
