Cheating Issues (Mac .99)

I've noticed that sometimes as I am teleporting around and causing trouble, the game will suddenly switch to the pulsating red screen and then revert to my last save point. Is this because I've screwed up the plot?

Once, it happened when I teleported to a southern island (can't remember the name) into a building that was completely surrounded by black (I couldn't walk out the door).

Abraham and the rest of the baddies were there, and I killed them...at which point Batlin made some speech about sending me home. However, this 'reverting to last saved' thing has happened during other times where I hadn't done any drastic cheating.

I had 'God' mode enabled.

I've been playing a bit more now, and it hasn't happened again...even though I killed Abraham and Elizabeth and took the Black Gate with me.

don't know if and where the files stdout/stderr can be found on classic Mac (or if they are shown in a console or something) but if there are you might get a clue when you look at stdout right after the red plasma screen comes on.
