I'm playing U7 BG on a Win2k machine (a Dell Latitude notebook) in 512x384. It's just great, so far (I played up to the point where the Avater meets Time Lord) only one crash and some minor plot stoppers on side-quests (e.g. Battle would get upset in New Magincia with no apparent reason; had to reload game).
The speed is very good, goes down to acceptable in crowded places e.g. Britain (I have all 7 companions in the party).
There is some strange mouse issue related to places where the speed drops: normally you move by holding down the right mouse button, and stop moving by releasing it. Well, in certain situations the movement continues even after releasing it, and I have to do a short click to stop it.
Sometimes monsters are spawned way too often (e.g. Skara Brae).
And a suggestion: resolutions higher that the original 320x200 are considered cheats. For example, you go to The Baths, cast Telekinesis on the lever and go to find Hook. What would be like to limit actions to a range equal to the original resolution, no matter the current one ? And, in case of Telekinesis, give the "OUT OF RANGE" message for targets too far away ?
All in all, great job guys, thanx for bringing back the best games ever !

Re: Impressions & sugestions
Not a bad suggestion (the 'out-of-range' test). As for Battle, this has been a constant problem, since his alignment is set as 'hostile'.
Re: Impressions & sugestions
One thing that might be happening is that you've double-clicked the mouse without realizing it. That (at least in the original) was the 'move to this location' command, rather than the usual single-click-hold 'move in this direction'.
Also, that Buc's Den issue isn't really a major one, since you could, even in the original, pull the exact same trick in the Fellowship hall there, using Telekinesis on a lever in the secret passage. (And once you'd done that, you had free run of the secret areas there.)
