Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious, but is there a way to open a locked object you do not possess the key for? Obviously, I don't need an explanation of lock picks or the skeleton key. I'm talking about a cheat method of some kind. Even a way to cause containers to spew forth their contents in a way similar to the original's Alt-4 cheat would be great.
I apologize if I'm just being dense and not seeing something obvious

in the ctrl-h help screen, look for "delete object"
(warning: it deletes the object under the mouse cursor, so aim carefully )

afaik you can open many doors and chests with it and the best thing about it:
you can SHUT UP EVERY DOOR and CHEST, even if there is no key for it !

The skeleton key is a useful key which works on any lock that isn't set to have a key of its own, like a universal lockpick that never fails or breaks. It's in a hidden mountain cave on a small island near Jhelom in U7.

Fantastic! What a handy Item! I've played BG/SI so many times and it is a real joy to be suprised by something new in the game over 10 years later
Speaking of handy items, how difficult would it be to port the ring of reagents from SI into BG? Same thing for the light helm. Naturally running out of reagents at a crucial time (eg facing dragons in destard) is part of the fun. Pays to plan ahead
