Paws venom quest broken?

Has anyone else experienced the venom quest in Paws to be broken?
I talk to the butcher, he gives me the quest.
I go talk to the farmer lady and her son.
I'm talked to by the Fellowship-Guy telling me that Tobias is the thief.
I go to the farmer lady and she tells me to speak with the butcher again.
The butcher gives me the key to the chest of the fellowship-guys son.
I open the chest and take the venom.

Now things start to get funky.

The dialog with the parents of the real thief work, but after I talk to the butcher and return the venom the previous dialog option never disappears when talking to him again. The dialog option with the farmer lady, clearing Tobias, doesn't appear and other people still tell me that there is a thief in town (I believe all thief-related dialog options disappeared or changed in response after returning the venom, in the original).

Anyone else seen this?

Well either you fixed this in Beta 2 or I somehow screwed things up again. I had no problems with this starting a new game with beta 2.

In case anyone's interested anyways, I could supply a beta 1 savegame after returning the venom with Morphin still having the "Tobias stole venom" dialog and me being unable to confront Garrit or clearing Tobias.

I think I saw this playing the original U7.

I think it has something todo with the order in which you talk to the people. If you miss talking to Garrit or someone else before Feridwyn confronts you, something gets messed up and the quest can't be completed.

Never had a problem with this in Exult or Ultima 7 before, myself.
