Ultima VIII Sound.

I dont have a sound blaster card, and i dont know how to hear the sounds and the music, could someone help me?

1. This is the forum for Exult, so questions about Ultima 7 might be ok but still off-topic. Questions about Ultima 8 are so way off topic they are not encouraged.

2. Even disregarding 1. you give so few details that it is impossible to help you. There are so many ways to play U8 you can't expect anyone to help you without more details.
- you could be running Dos, I'd then suggest read the help that comes with the game.
-you could be running linux and run Ultima 8 with the last official Dosbox release (that would mean that it doesn't matter what soundcard you have)
- You could be running Windows 9x, ME or NT (4.0, 2000,XP) and then use the patch for U8 to run in Windows (see links), or Dosbox or Virtual PC or whatever.

Without information there is no help. Not to mention 1. again and point out that this is the wrong forum


(or you could be running Pentagram but then the question does not make sense at all).

I´ve tried to use pentagram but it didnt work, so im using the u8 in windows. I dont know how to install the sound, i dont know the port, the irq etc.

If you have Windows 9x you could try native DOS mode.

For Win2k/XP, try VDMSound (http://ntvdm.cjb.net/)

still too few informations...
on XP/2000/NT 4.0 you won't be able to get sound effects/voice with VDMS, only music. With Dosbox 0.6 I was able to get all.
