Not sure if it's of any interest to anyone, but I wonder if TBG's key ring mod is a bit buggy to be played in recent snapshots.
I tried to eat a piece of garlic but instead of devouring this little snack, the guards were called. Trying it multiple times, guaranteed more guards and party members start to leave.
"Avatar, thy breath is ghastly!" "I am calling the guards. Thou must be stopped." says Shamino, while Iolo is turning green and collapses onto the ground.
This was garlic from inside my inventory. No garlic is consumed, strangely enough.
Is this a joke from the author? I've noticed Iolo is lactose-intolerant all of a sudden, and certain party members refuse to eat butter (which I can understand, who in their right mind would eat a whole stick of butter).
On a different note: Thank you, Dr. Code, for fixing the combat system. I really enjoy archery again.

Hmm, interesting, can you put a savegame up?

Oh, in case it is overlooked, I placed some garlic on the ground in that save. Saves you time looking for some.
Re: U7 TBG Key ring mod - Garlic breath is a crime
I love this.
Re: U7 TBG Key ring mod - Garlic breath is a crime
Yes, I can reproduce this. I'll try and see if that happens with older versions of Exult as well.
That the garlic is not getting consumed is odd, too.

Re: U7 TBG Key ring mod - Garlic breath is a crime
Seems this is a long term existing bug, a keyring version of 2013 and old Exult snapshots do have the same behavior.
I *think* it's very likely caused by Garlic actually being a reagent.

Or the mod creator really dislikes garlic. A secret fantasy of sticking the cops on anyone who even remotely smells of the stuff.

Re: U7 TBG Key ring mod - Garlic breath is a crime
Judging by the original usecode for U7BG, without going ahead setting up and running the game today under Dosbox, the responses to being fed garlic are at least sometimes actually positive: "Yum, garlic!" to be precise.
My guess is that the mod responses are an easter egg of sorts.

The responses are gotcha's addendum to the bug
