Real Time

Post by Chris Schumacher »

Eh... This "bug" of having the game world continue whenever you open your backpack/spellbook, whenever you save, whenever The Guardian et al talks to
you; this is going to be removed eventually right? I mean, you didn't do this on
purpose, did you? You're not going to keep it on as a feature...?

Because the designers took this into account--for instance the battle with the Banes
would be impossible to win this way, not only because you need to cure yourself
at least once to survive their attacks, you also need to put them into their prisms
one at a time...

Maybe eventually...:-)

The game does freeze when saving, and nobody can attack when your backpack/spellbook is open.

I managed to do this without cure, though I had a very powerful Avatar with weak Petra. These 2 guys and several heavy spells killed the Banes.

I think you can also get through the battle having everyone else protect the Avatar.
The trouble is that the Banes go straight for the Avatar. Which is fairly obvious since
he's the only one who's capable of killing them. IN fact, unless my eyes decieve me,
the Avatar only had to hit a bane about three times to kill it. Of course, it might have
been softened up a lot by my party...

Also, something strange I discovered in SI, using the regular version. Apparently
Vasculio isn't the only enemy who shouts out things about the MageBane; we
were fighting a Skeletal Dragon (I think it was in one of the temples), and Dupre
went up and whacked him, and suddenly "What...? My magic!" appeared. I ought
to try that while attacking some of the mages in Moonshade. Does this happen when
you use it in BG as well?
