Studio Chunks Question

Hi all,

In Studio I can create Groups and add items to them for Shapes, but when I try to add chunks to a Chunks Group, nothing happens (the Group remains empty). Is this me or a bug?


I also have a request for a feature (assuming the above can be fixed).

One of the most important things on a map and one of the most tedious is random elements, like grass lands or forests. Would it be possible to paint random chunks from a Chunks Group? (I can add whatever chunks I want to a Group and then when I've selected the "Paint with Group" option with that Group, chunks are chosen randomly from it when I click on the map to paint).

I've noticed the same problem with Groups when using chunks - especially difficult since there are so many and they're all over the place. It makes it very painful to create all-new maps.

In fact, if group configurations can be saved as separate files it would be worth someone going through all the chunks and grouping them into sensible categories (e.g. forest, desert, plains, mountains, rivers, roads, shoreline, etc.) to build a pack anyone can download and use.

Chunks groups: Sure sounds like a bug.

Random painting: Sounds like a good idea. We already have that for 'painting' a shape: when you hold the 'alt' key down, it chooses random frames.

Group files: Yes, each group is stored in a file (look in the patch directory after saving), and I'd like for us to distribute them.

When this bug gets sorted out (with Chunk Groups) I'll be happy to organise the pieces (assuming I have the time).

Adding chunks to groups seems to be working here, although I haven't done a lot of testing with it.
