When I go to the forge of virtue, I try to break the mirror with the gem and nothing happens. does this happen with anyone else?

If you really confused snapshot with screenshot take a look at the FAQ (which is kind of a must when posting here unless you like to be ridiculed).

If you are running Windows download the binary snapshot. If you are running another OS download the source and read the appropiate readme on how to compile Exult.
