sphere generator broken?

i'm trying to finish the sphere generator and it's just not working!!! the sequence is red blue blue red. but after i go into the first red, i go to another platform and in this one neither the red nor the blue moongate works. i end up stuck on this little platform and end up having to reload my game. I've tried previous savegames and they don't work either. is there some kind of cheat that can teleport me to the little platform with the little sphere. i don't want to go to trinsic and cheat that way, wouldn't that screw up my game even more? and besides I want to do as little "cheating" as possible.

If you start a new game, then immediately teleport into the puzzle, is it still broken? I'm trying to figure out if Exult is corrupting this area, or if some people have versions of U7 that are different than mine.

To get past where you are, just teleport (alt-t) to the platform with the little sphere.
