exult.cfg in linux
I just got done compiling exult in linux, was it supposed to make an exult.cfg for me to edit or do I have to copy and paste and edit one from elsewhere?
Re: exult.cfg in linux
Exult should create a default ~/.exult.cfg. You do need to adjust the paths in there, though.
Re: exult.cfg in linux
Gr..hate to double post like this but the ~/.exult.cfg file only works for root access. How would I set it for user?
Re: exult.cfg in linux
If you run exult as a user, it will create a .exult.cfg in the user's homedir.
There's no system for system-wide settings (yet)

Re: exult.cfg in linux
Arrite. Have a working, nonlaggy user exult.cfg. Next step is midi music working. I'm guessing I need to point Exult to timidity or some other midi player, or have I got something set wrong? and why is the Windows exult.cfg longer than the linux version?

Re: exult.cfg in linux
It depends how Exult was configured. Default is to use timidity. If you have timidity installed, and configure picked it up, it will use that.
Make sure you can play midis with Timidity.
Otherwise it will use playmidi

Re: exult.cfg in linux
could someone post a copy of their cfg file and where they placed the ave packs?
Re: exult.cfg in linux
if you put the wave packs into the dir containing the data of exult (that dir is in exult.cfg in the data header) they should be used automatically if you put the name of the correct pack in the "waves" location (see also the Documentation - music section)
