Automaton in Mountains of Freedom.

Post by Denny »

Not sure if this is a bug or not. If it is, i'll be happy to submit it. I just entered the Mountains of Freedom, and the automaton who is supposed to 'make his rounds' is staying in his office. I've stared at him for about 20-30 minutes, real time, and while he does move to the door leading out of his office periodically, he won't open it or leave. I try sleeping, nothing. I can't pick any of the doors, and I can't find a key amongst the trash.

Am I supposed to do something? How long does it usually take him to make his rounds? Every guide says to just wait for him to stop talking and kill him, as if he's going to leave from his office very soon.

The snapshot from June, and also tested with the late July snapshot. No modifications.

I've actually uploaded a save file immediately prior to the incident to your bug tracking system.

Thanks for the savegame, this should help a lot. If I can reproduce it, I may be able to find the culprit through regression testing.
NOT looking forward to this, as I'll hate the whole scene after about five times... ;)

I can confirm it's broken :(

For now you can just hackmove yourself to his side of the cage (or hackmove his seat to your side and at one point he will suddenly sit there :))

Edit: Revision 7324 from January 23rd broke it with the changes to the patrol schedule :(
