Game drops to desktop

Help,

I can't get neither U7 nor SI started. The intor plays for both titles, then I create the character and when I say 'Journey Onward', the game drops back to the Desktop.
Any log-file where errors are stoed? Any idea? I have the version from the U9 Collectors CD.

oh, btw: I use Win98SE, GF3, SB Live Platinum, 512 MB Ram, Pentium 4 1.8GHz

Any errors are in stdout.txt and stderr.txt

Could you post them?

Make sure there are no spaces in the install path of Ultima7 BG or SI.

ie..
C:\Ultima7

Oh, yes, changing the path to c:\ultima7 helped, even though there were no spaces in my path, which was c:\programme\origin\ultima7_1

as you showed in the other thread you had spaces in the path: C:\Programme\Origin\Ultima Collection\Ultima7
