Why "Battle Lost" music was removed?

Post by Dark Templar »

I do not mean to offend you guys and I perfectly know I will not change anything because it is not too singificant, but there is one thing that bothers me, all I need to know the opinion of The Team why it was removed:

In BG and SI there was used to be a music that happens when you run away from monsters still alive or get killed altogether. Sometimes it happened even when the monsters ran from you and you made a little step like in the infamous gem farming troll mansion in SI when a troll happened to be outside the house, got wounded and ran away. It was a rather cool music... yet you have decided to remove it. I use to play SI about 7 times or so, yet I never completed it, always stowed for later and then always liked to start from the beginning :) You see that I heard this music a lot of times... yet it was removed from Exult :( It will be really not the same experience playing w/o that music... why it was said goodbye?

I know it works in BG; at least it used to. Maybe the song # is set wrong in SI.

No I meant neither danger music when you run on new monsters at distance nor the one when you cancel combat mode while fighting ("fleeing" music), but exactly the one when you disengaged the monsters and they are no longer posing any danger After escaping from combat. Yeah yeah, that one "head pounding" MIDI (PO-bo-ppo-po-po-po-po-po;
PO-bo-ppo-po-po-po-po-po). It also usually plays when you die at SI and get teleported to Monk Isle for resurrection. As for Black Gate I do not remember how it was really, because I couldn't slow the game down and removing Internal Cache slowed it really much.

I really don't think it is a good idea to do not implement it... of course I know you might think it is foolish to listen it while you run from some negligible rats or mongbats and it really can be boring while... yet still I do not think it is a good idea to leave the game w/o it. It only can remind someone to be valorous and kill all the monsters on the way, or you will know you lost :) After all then, I guess it is possible to make an option to disable it if someone does wish.
