Auto-feed

Post by Gerry »

Would it be possible to add an auto-feeding option? You would simply stick some beef in Iolo's backpack and have it 'handed round' automatically once it was required.

Best wishes & thanks,

that's a pretty cool idea. A real plus. With obviously ability to turn it off (you don't want your newly acquired wolf meat be eating by your companions when it is reserved for the banquet stew in SI).

The F key works fine enough for me. Pressing F will give each party member as much food as they require.

... but only in the 1.1x branch. We really should release 1.00 soon...

I think the F-key is a very helpful feature. Auto-feed would just add an extra bit of 'ease of play', allowing you to concentrate on other aspects of the game more. I wouldn't add it if it would involve delving too deep into the code, though.

Ok then, when would it auto-feed? I usually don't feed people until either everyone is hungry or until someone is hungry enough to eat a "large" piece of food (mutton, big pumpkin, etc.). I do this to save food. The F key is good enough for me. :D

i like the old one:

open backback and give them the food to eat, which i think is realistic.

i play so my little own roleplay, i have for example for everyone one bread, one little cheese and something to drink for one day.

and such an auto-feeding option would kill some little fun of the gameplay i think...
what come's next? an auto-go-to-bed system?
auto-drink-potion?
auto-cast-healing-spell?

no, guys i think the F-key is already a little close to much...

Guess you'd have to get the computer to feed your party members only once they were starving. I don't think of this as a big deal though. Just wonder whether anyone else ever played with the idea.

Best wishes,

It would be fairly easy to do; but I agree that it would take some of the realism out.

Maybe it would be fun to go in the opposite direction: Require you to give your party a balanced diet.

perhaps some less hungry party members would be more realistic....
if you want a no-hungry party, you have to feed them with douzen of breads, ham, normally enough for a horde of alligators...
