Boydon

Hi. I'm using Exult v1.0 on win98, and I've just got to Mad Mage Isle. Now, unless I'm doing something blindingly stupid (which could be very likely), Boydon will not be re-made. I've put his head, torso, the phoenix egg and as many body parts as I could before it just spits them out again, and nothing happens. I've been through all the conversation options with Erstram and that monkey-boy he's got working for him, and nothing's happening. I've not tried an earlier save, as it's absolutely ages since I saved in a different slot.

Normally, if the machine spits parts out is because something is missing...
Some parts don't belong to Boydon.

Problem is, I've put every part I can find in. Even the leg hidden behind it, apart from making a nice little pile of anatomy they didn't do anything

The parts boydon uses are the non-wriggling ones. There are specific parts the machine accepts... you can't use any others. Make sure the parts you put in are not moving and have a decayed look to them. You should put in the head, torso, two legs, two arms, and then the pheonix egg.

I remember having a few problems with this, it took me a while.

I think you must use still parts, and put them in carefully. If they go in right, a little spark will appear. You need exactly 2 legs, 2 arms, torso, head, and the egg as said above.

So apparently I've been putting the torso behind the machine. I don't know why or how

That's a clipping problem with Exult.

You get them all the time making your own stuff, even with things that should work.

I have one table that always clips over things, even things it's below :(

Same problem here (with the 1.1 beta), this is definately a plot-stopper bug

ShadowChaser: you know the procedure, I guess :-)
Please submit a bugreport with a svegame just before you throw in the body parts...

In the meantime you guys could probably warp to "the house of the dead" and have him join your party.
