Monsters in U7

I was wondering if there are monsters in U7 that are stronger than dragons. I can kill dragons 10 minutes into the game, and that destroys the fun IMO. I thought dragons were always hard to defeat (I'm new to the game). I like challenging battles (like in UO, where you need a good strong party to defeat a dragon), and I was expecting the same from U7. Are there no challenging battles in U7, at all?
