I'll leave that here as I don't know any better place
If you want modified Exult-own messages as well as Intro and Endgame subtitles to show up while you are playing with a mod (SI Fixes, BG Keyring or else) the "exultmsg.txt" (that normally goes) in /patch/ will not work.
The file needs to be (copied) in <GAME>/mods/<MODNAME>/data instead.

Yes, it’s perfectly clear to us but not documented
Patch and mods are basically the same only that mods are accessed through a menu. So you can consider them to be hierarchical the same.
It’s only always one that alters the game and don‘t „stack“!
