The hammer of dedication functions as a maul, just like the normal ones. I don't think that its damage is any different than an ordinary one, though admittedly it has a bit more interesting appearance.

I can't get Exult Studio to work, but didn't the Hammer of Dedication have
some special ability, like Magebane? I think it had a better range than the
Juggernaut Hammer.

I actually heard that the Hammer of Dedication is weaker than most hammers. ... And the Sceptre, .. I think it's used to unlock the Hierophant of Order's room ... somewhere. >_< Man, I'm bad with names. But.. yes, it's used to unlock the place a few meters to the west of that very tall pyramid of floor with the serpent gate in the middle, under some mountains, near the Wall of Lights in North East Serpent Isle.
